Both squads recognized by CSCAA on Wednesday
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - George Washington swimming and diving continued to achieve in the classroom during the fall semester with both the men's and women's teams earning College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honors on Wednesday.
The CSCAA honored a record 763 teams representing 480 schools nationwide for achieving a combined GPA of 3.0 or better in the fall.
The GW women earned a combined GPA of 3.31, while the men posted a 3.16 GPA. It's the fourth consecutive semester -- and 16th time in the past 18 semesters -- that both squads received recognition from the CSCAA.
For the semester, 43 Colonials earned spots on the GW Athletics Dean's List (3.00+) with nine of them also on the University Dean's List (3.75+).
GW's commitment in the classroom has continued through a period of steady success within the Atlantic 10 and on the national level. Next month, the men will try for their fourth straight conference title, while the women aim to improve on last season's runner-up finish and claim their first league crown.
