For the second time in as many meets, GW swimming & diving student-athletes have earned three conference weekly awards, as Andres Brooks and Talya Erdogan were named A10 Performers of the Week, and Carmen Bunt earned A10 Rookie of the Week honors.
Brooks was named the conference's top performer for the second time this season as he led GW's men's team at the Dual Meet Tournament. Brooks captured two race wins, which included the 200-yard fly (1:46.39) vs. Auburn and the 100-yard fly (46.63, personal best) vs. Penn State, while also claiming three second-place results, in the 200-yard IM vs. Auburn (1:47.81) and Penn State (1:45.87), and in the 200-yard fly (1:46.76) vs. Florida State.
Erdogan claimed her first career A10 Performer of the Week accolade as she also won a pair of events in Atlanta last weekend. The standout distance swimmer claimed first place in the 500-yard freestyle against both Penn State (4:53.80) and Florida State (4:57.27). Erdogan added two third-place swims, in the 500-yard free (4:59.24) vs. Auburn and the 200-yard free (1:51.24) vs. Penn State.
Bunt also earned her first career A10 weekly award as the rookie was competitive all weekend long against power conference opposition. Bunt won one event, the 200-yard IM (2:02.35) against Penn State, as she also claimed top-four swims in the 200-yard IM (2nd, 2:02.38) and the 200-yard breaststroke (4th, 2:19.22) against Auburn, and in the 200-yard IM (4th, 2:04.47) against Florida State.
