Former Hoosier joins program for spring season
WASHINGTON – Jennifer Beadle has joined George Washington water polo as an assistant coach, head coach Barry King announced Monday.
Beadle, who played collegiately at Indiana from 2014-2018 including two seasons under King's leadership, will work with both the men's and women's teams.
"We are very excited about the addition of Jenni to our staff," King said. "From the day I first saw her play and started recruiting her, I was impressed with her work rate and the relationships she had with her teammates. It was a true pleasure to coach her for two years. Jenni's passion for the game will be of great value to our scholar athletes."
Beadle comes to Foggy Bottom with a wealth of high-level experience in the game. The California native was recruited to Indiana by King and went on to become a three-year starter and team captain with the Hoosiers.
As a senior in 2018, Beadle ranked third on the squad with a career-high 41 goals to help the Hoosiers to a 25-9 record. For her collegiate career, the center totaled 140 goals, 57 assists and 117 steals over 119 games.
In recognition of her work in the classroom, Beadle was twice honored as an Academic All-Big 10 selection before graduating with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences in May 2018.
"I am really excited about joining the coaching staff of The George Washington University Water Polo team," Beadle said. "I look forward to coaching alongside Barry King."
Most recently, Beadle studied at Northumbria University in England, where she completed work on a master's degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology in December. While there, she represented the school in water polo, as well.
Beadle's coaching experience includes working as an assistant at her alma mater, Foothill High School, and on the club level with Diablo Water Polo.
Beadle will dive right in helping the GW women's squad make final preparations for the new season. The Colonials kick off their 2020 campaign on Saturday with a doubleheader vs. Villanova and La Salle.
