No. 14 Women’s Squash Heads to CSA Nationals

Colonials set for Kurtz Cup (B-Division) play
SERVING FIRST: The No. 14 George Washington women's squash team is set to kick off play at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Nationals on Friday afternoon when it goes head-to-head with No. 11 Cornell at 6:30 p.m. at the Trinity Squash Courts.
LAST TIME AT NATIONALS: GW went 1-2 in the Kurtz Cup last year at the CSA National Championships at Harvard. After being edged, 5-4, by Brown in the first round, the Colonials went on to route Amherst, 9-0, in the consolation semifinal. GW wrapped team play in the 13/14 playoff, falling to Virginia, 7-2, to close out the season ranked No. 14 in the nation.
BRACKET BREAKDOWN: The Kurtz Cup is comprised of teams ranked 9-16 in the latest CSA National rankings. Also in the bracket along with GW and Cornell are No. 9 Dartmouth, No. 10 Virginia, No. 12 Brown, No. 13 Williams, No. 15 Middlebury, and No. 16 Amherst. GW is 1-5 against the field this season with its lone victory over Middlebury.
