Mark Davis Resigns as GW Men's Rowing Head Coach

Search for Next Head Coach to Commence Immediately

WASHINGTON - Mark Davis has announced his resignation as head coach of the George Washington men's rowing team, effective January, 2020.
"Since taking the reigns of the program in 2009, Mark has guided GW men's rowing to be among the top programs in the country," said Director of Athletics Tanya Vogel. "We're grateful to Mark for coaching our student-athletes to such an elite level in a historic sport. As we wish Mark, Leanne and their boys nothing but the best, we also look forward to the next chapter of excellence at GW."
With Davis at the helm, the Colonials enjoyed a pinnacle season in 2018-19, culminating in an all-time program best No. 13 finish nationally for the varsity 8 boat at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships.
Davis is moving to the state of Washington to work for the Sammamish Rowing Association. A search for the next GW men's rowing Head Coach will begin immediately.
