Men’s Soccer to Wrap Regular Season at Dayton

Colonials aim to secure a spot in Atlantic 10 Championship
KICKING OFF: The George Washington men's soccer team will wrap its regular season on Saturday with a trip to Dayton, Ohio to face the Flyers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials fell to VCU 2-0, last Saturday evening at Sports Backers Stadium. Liam Emson led the Colonials with four shots while Hauker Hilmarsson added three of his own.
DOWN TO THE WIRE: The Colonials enter this weekend in a four-way tie for sixth place. To secure a bid to the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship, the Colonials must finish among the top eight. Quarterfinals will take place on campus sites on Nov. 9 and 10 while the semi finals and finals will be held at Fordham Nov. 15-17.
ABOUT DAYTON: Dayton is 10-7 on the year and 5-2 in A-10 play, including a 7-1 record at home. The Flyers rank seventh in the nation in assists, eighth in goals, and averages 2.12 goals per game. They are led by junior Jonas Fjieldberg, who has 10 goals and nine assists on the season. The Flyers' goalkeeper, Federico Barrios, has six shutouts and 61 saves in his 16 starts in 2019.
SHUTTING OUT THE COMPETITION: Four of the Colonials' five victories this season were shutouts. Last Saturday against VCU, keeper Noah Lubin had five saves bringing his total to 24 this season. Since becoming the starting goalkeeper, Lubin has a .727 save percentage in nine starts.
