Lacrosse Prepares for Colonial Harvest

WASHINGTON – For the eighth straight year, the George Washington lacrosse team is sponsoring a Thanksgiving basket collection, known as Colonial Harvest, to provide food and toiletries to local families in need during the holidays. This year, Colonial Harvest will help kick off GW's Home Opener Weekend .
As in years past, the Colonials are collecting reusable grocery bags filled with non-perishable food items including the Thanksgiving staples like canned vegetables, instant mashed potatoes, stuffing mix and cranberry sauce, as well as toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste and feminine hygiene products.
The baskets will be delivered to a local church, with the remaining canned food items going to the Foggy Bottom Food Pantry and The Store, GW's food pantry for students.
Baskets and monetary donations will be collected in the lobby of the Charles E. Smith Center on Friday, November 8 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
