Colonials wrap the regular season next Saturday at Dayton
RICHMOND, Va. – In its penultimate game of the regular season, the George Washington men's soccer team fell to VCU, 2-0, on Saturday evening at Sports Backers Stadium.
 
The Rams found the back of the net early in the first half and were able to stall the Colonials for the remainder of the game to secure the victory.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• 3rd Minute – The Rams got on the board early with a quick strike from Fortia Munts. Munts took a pass from Biyombo and shot the ball just beyond the reach of Noah Lubin. VCU 1, GW 0
• 60th Minute – VCU padded its lead with a goal from Fiorre Mane. VCU 2, GW 0
 
NOTEWORTHY
• Despite coming out on top in their last trip to Sports Backers Stadium in 2017, the Rams took this meeting over the Colonials. VCU owns the series history, 2-7-1.
• The Rams held a narrow 17-15 advantage in shots while GW held an 8-6 edge in corner kicks.
• Liam Emson paced the Buff and Blue with four shots while Haukur Hilmarsson followed closely behind with three of his own.
• Keeper Noah Lubin made five saves while Rams keeper Mario Sequeira stopped seven shots on the night.

The Colonials will wrap up their regular season at Dayton on Saturday, Nov. 2. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
