Women’s Soccer Returns Home to Host George Mason

Colonials travel to St. Bonaventure on Sunday
KICKING OFF: The George Washington women's soccer squad is set to host Revolutionary Rival George Mason on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the GW Soccer Field on the Mount Vernon Campus before hitting the road to face St. Bonaventure on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials (5-4-1) split their weekend matches, first blanking Rhode Island, 4-0, on Thursday before falling to Fordham, 4-0, on Sunday. Against Rhode Island, the Buff and Blue held a dominant 10-3 advantage in shots going into the break and went on to lead 20-6 in shots at the conclusion of the match.
FIRST-YEAR FIRE POWER: Thursday's match was a day of firsts for GW, as Maria Pareja, Beth Ellinport and Hannah Zaluski each recorded their first career goals. Anya Heijst, also in her first season suiting up in the Buff and Blue, earned her first point as a Colonial off an assist.

Mason holds a 2-21-3 advantage in the series, with the last GW win coming in overtime in 2015.
