WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued their strong work in the classroom during the spring semester, earning recognition as College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams.
The CSCAA honored 710 teams representing 476 nationwide Tuesday for achieving a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher in the spring semester. The GW women's squad posted a 3.49 GPA, while the men's team recorded a combined GPA of 3.33. It's the 13th time in the past 15 semesters that both squads received the accolade.
Hannah Kopydlowski, Miranda Simon and Emils Pone led the Colonials by posting perfect 4.0 GPAs for the semester. In all, 26 student-athletes (16 women and 10 men) posted a 3.5 GPA or higher.
The CSCAA is scheduled to announce its individual Scholar All-Americans next week.
