ON THE LINE: The George Washington University men's rowing team looks to continue its successful spring season when it sends three boats to compete on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts for Sunday's 74th annual Eastern Association of Rowing College (EARC) Sprints.
THE SPRINTS: The Eastern Sprints features 15 of the top 20 teams in the latest US Collegiate Rowing Poll.
The event begins with morning heats where the top two boats from each of the three heats for the V8, 2V8, and 3V8 advance to Sunday afternoon's Grand Finals.
The third-and fourth-place finishers compete in the Petite Final, while the remaining boats slot into the 3rd-Level Final.
POLL WATCH: GW's Varsity Eight enters the race ranked No.15 in the US Collegiate Rowing poll, a two spot improvement from last week's poll after a successful showing at the Stevenson Cup.
SEEDING: The EARC seeds each boat based on season performance ahead of the Sprints. The seeds are then used to formulate lane assignments for each heat.
The Varsity 8 is seeded 12th heading into Sunday's event. The 2nd Varsity 8 is ranked 11th, while the 3rd Varsity 8 is also slotted 12th.
HEAT RUNDOWN: The 3rd Varsity 8 will open the day for GW in the 8:40 a.m. heat against Yale, Syracuse, Dartmouth, and Navy.
The Varsity Eight will follow in the 9:12 a.m. heat versus Yale, Boston University, Syracuse, and Navy.
The 2nd Varsity Eight will compete last in the 10:24 a.m. heat against Princeton, Brown, Syracuse, Pennsylvania, and Rutgers.
