WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's and women's rowing programs will host the 29th George Washington Invitational, the largest collegiate rowing competition in the Washington metropolitan area, beginning on Friday, April 6, on the Potomac River race course.
The weekend of competition will include elite racing, boat dedications, and an alumnae row to honor the Women's Rowing 1998 NCAA berth.
Racing is slated to begin midday on Friday and will continue on Saturday morning. Alumni, friends, and parents of current GW men's and women's rowers are encouraged to attend a reception at the home of Dave Wilson (Rowing Class of '87) on Friday evening. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Men's Rowing endowment.
On Saturday, the Buff and Blue will cap off the weekend with members of the current team at the annual Rowing Banquet in the Charles E. Smith Center, with a celebration at Tonic with fellow alums to follow.
