COLONIAL SPOTLIGHT
Slaughter scored a career-high four goals in Sunday's win over Connecticut College and also added two assists, two steals, two field blocks and four ejections drawn. The senior from California ranks sixth on the club with 26 points via 14 goals and 12 assists.The ceremony to honor last season's historic run will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. with the MAWPC matchup following at 7 p.m. Both will be streamed via Facebook Live.
LAST TIME OUT:Â No. 20 GW (15-5, 5-2 MAWPC) picked up a pair of non-conference wins in its home pool last weekend. The Colonials rolled past Austin College, 21-5, on Friday before downing Connecticut College, 20-6, on Sunday night.
Atakan Destici totaled a team-high eight goals, including the 200th of his career in Sunday's victory. The junior from Turkey leads the Colonials with 102 points this season (61 goals, 41 assists).
Zachary Pendolino, a first-year from California, was named the MAWPC Rookie of the Week after tallying three goals, an assist, three steals and an ejection drawn over the two games.
Matt Taylor (19 saves) and Austin Pyrch (12 saves) split time in net to lead a pair of sterling defensive efforts.
ON A ROLL:Â GW has scored at least 20 goals nine times this season, including five of its past six games. The Colonials are averaging 16.1 goals per game on the season, up from 12.6 in 2017. They've been even better in their home pool, averaging 21 goals in four contests in Foggy Bottom this fall, all double-digit victories.
GW has showcased a deep and balanced lineup with 10 different scorers in both wins last weekend. Ten Colonials have tallied at least 10 goals this season and nine have totaled at least 20 points.

SCOUTING NAVY:Â The Midshipmen (12-8, 4-2) had last weekend off on the heels of a trip to California. They went 2-4 on the West Coast, highlighted by a win over then-No. 14 California Baptist.
Bobby Lee leads Navy with 46 goals through 20 games, while goalkeeper Ronan Williams has stopped 52 percent of the shots he's faced in racking up 147 saves.
GW beat Navy three times last season, including a 16-14 victory in Foggy Bottom. The teams will face each other again on Nov. 10 in Annapolis, Md., to close the regular season.
COMING UP:Â After a break next weekend, GW returns to MAWPC play on Nov. 4 with a doubleheader at Smith Center Pool. The Colonials are set to face Fordham at 10 a.m. before meeting No. 20 Wagner at 3 p.m.
