
Women's Water Polo Announces 2017 Schedule

WASHINGTON -- The George Washington women's water polo team will take part in four tournaments, including hosting the GW Invitational, March 10-11, as part of a 29-game regular season schedule, third-year head coach Adam Foley announced Monday.
The Colonials will begin their 2017 campaign on Feb. 10-12 at Bucknell's Bison Invitational, when they will face Mercyhurst, Gannon, Harvard and Princeton.
GW plays at Saint Francis University on Feb. 17 before taking part in the Mercyhurst Invitational, Feb. 18-19, where it will play Bucknell, Grove City and Siena.
GW opens March with a trip to VMI on March 4 before opening play in the GW Invitational on the 10th, where it will get a return game from VMI and play its first conference match vs. Saint Francis. The Colonials also host Mercyhurst and Gannon on March 11.
The following week, GW will embark on its annual trip to California. The Colonials being their West Coast swing at Chapman on March 14, before facing Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona on the 15th, and Redlands the 16th. GW then plays in the Loyola Marymount Invitational, March 17-18, where it will face Pomona, Whitter, Loyola Marymount and Long Beach State.
Following a two-week break, GW gets back into conference action with matches vs. Michigan and Bucknell on April 1. The next weekend the Colonials head to Oneonta, N.Y., to face Hartwick, Harvard, Indiana and Brown.
GW closes its regular season schedule with two more road matches, April 13-14; the Colonials will play a non-conference match at Villanova on the 13th before finishing conference play at Princeton on the 14th.
The 2017 CWPA Championship is slated for April 28-30 at Indiana University.
