WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's rowing team will send three boats to this weekend's 114th Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships, hosted by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) on Lake Mercer in West Windsor, New Jersey.
The Colonials will race a Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8 and 3rd Varsity 8 in the three-day event. The top crews in the country will be competing at the prestigious regatta, with the winner of the Varsity 8 Grand Final being crowned the national champion.
Racing commences with Friday's morning heats followed by repechages in the afternoon. Semifinals are scheduled for Saturday morning with the grand, petite, third-level finals and fourth-level finals on Sunday.
For the Varsity 8, 2V8 and 3V8, the top two crews from each heat will advance to Saturday's semifinals while the remaining boats will row in the Friday afternoon repechages.
