WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's and women's swimming and diving programs will welcome nearby UMBC to the Charles E. Smith Center Pool for their home-opening meet on Saturday afternoon.
The women's three-meter and the men's one-meter diving will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the swimming portion of the meet will begin at 1 p.m.
GW is coming off a double-dual meet with Boston University and Bucknell last Saturday. Senior Janica Lee paced the women with two individual wins in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events and swam the second leg of the first-place 200-yard medley relay, while classmate Goran Koprivnjak led the men's side with four top-five finishes on the day.
Both of the Retrievers' men's and women's teams won the CCSA North Invitational at the UMBC Aquatic Complex last weekend, defeating Gardner-Webb, NJIT and VMI. Both squads are 1-1 in dual meets this season after topping Rider at home and falling at Navy.
