PROVIDENCE, R.I. - George Washington senior Megan Walker was named to the CWPA All-Southern Division First Team, the organization announced on Thursday evening at the 2012 CWPA Eastern Championship and Hall of Fame ceremony. The all-division teams were selected by a vote of the league's head coaches.
A second-team honoree a year ago, Walker leads the Colonials with 62 ejections drawn in 2011, the fifth-highest single-season total in school history. She has scored 41 goals and 57 points on the year, including 11 man-up goals and two penalty goals, and she has added 25 steals. The senior from San Clemente, Calif., was named Southern Division Player of the Week on April 3.
Walker's 201 career ejections drawn rank second all-time at GW, while her 143 career goals are tied for fourth.
Walker is the ninth Colonials player to earn multiple All-Southern Division honors in her career, and she is the 10th first-team selection in program history.
GW (10-14) is the ninth seed in this weekend's CWPA Eastern Championship at Brown University and will play eight-seeded Bucknell in the tournament's opening game on Friday at 9 a.m.
