Men's Rowing Advances To Varsity 4 Petite Final

CHERRY HILL, N.J.- The George Washington men's rowing team finished in fifth place in the Varsity 4 Semifinals at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships on the Cooper River on Friday morning. Friday's effort advances the Colonials to the Petite Final on Saturday morning.
GW, coming off a first-place finish in Thursday's repechage, finished just three and one one-hundredths of a second behind first-place Navy. The top five crews all crossed the finish line within three seconds of each other.
In Saturday's Petite Final, the Colonials will row against district-rival Georgetown, A-10 foe Temple, Syracuse, Northeastern and Holy Cross.
The Varsity 4 crew consists of coxswain Margaret Barone, stroke Trofym Anderson, Colin York (three seat), Craig Helmstetter (two seat) and bow James Stafford.
