Men's Rowing Competes At EARC Sprints

WORCESTER, MA- The George Wasington men's rowing team registered first- and third-place finishes in the 3rd Level Finals of the 2nd Varsity 8 and Varsity 8, respectively, on Sunday afternoon at the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond.
The Colonials used three fifth-place finishes in the morning heats of the Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8 and the Freshman 8.
In the Varsity 8 3rd Level Final the Colonials finished in third place (6:03.06), nine seconds behind winner Pennsylvania and second-place Northeastern.
In the 2nd Varsity 8 3rd Level Final, the Colonials (6:12.725) defeated Holy Cross 6:13.011) by .286 seconds to clinch a first-place finish. District-rival Georgetown took the bronze medal in 6:20.151.
In the Freshman 8 3rd Level Final, GW took fourth just five seconds behind winner Holy Cross. Pennsylvania and MIT took second and third, respectively.
