
Women's Water Polo Rolls Bucknell, 10-8

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Trailing 4-2 midway through the second quarter, the George Washington women's water polo team erupted to score eight of the game's next nine goals en route to a 10-8 victory over Bucknell Saturday at the Maryland Invitational.
Tied at 2-2 after the first quarter, GW (2-3) allowed the opening two goals of the second quarter to find itself down 4-2. However, the Colonials finished the period with four unanswered goals to take a 6-4 advantage into halftime.
The Colonials added to their lead with a 4-1 edge in the third quarter to take a 10-5 cushion into the final eight minutes. The Bison scored three goals in the final period, but it wasn't enough as they lost for the first time this season in five games.
Junior Allison Peotter netted three goals and classmate Megan Walker added two to lead GW. Senior Erin Delker, junior Monica Hanson and freshmen Katherine Berry, Rachael Bentley and Allison Littlejohn also netted goals for the Colonials.
Senior goalkeeper Charlotte Schou picked up her second win of the season by making 10 saves.
GW returns to Eppley Recreation Center in College Park, MD, Sunday to face Wagner at 11:00 am.
