WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington senior Dominic Abruzzese was named the MVP for Men's Rowing Thursday at GW's Senior Honors Luncheon on the GW campus.
A senior from Ridley Park, PA, Abruzzese joined the men's rowing team as a freshman in Fall 2006. By his junior year, Abruzzese had become an integral member of a squad that finished ninth at the Eastern Sprint Championships and 15th at the National Championships, both program-best performances for GW Rowing.
This season, the team leader and captain has helped the Colonials' Varsity Eight boat to a 5-1 record and a current ranking of 15th in the nation.
