
George Washington Wins McCausland Cup

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington men's rowing had an eventful opening weekend of competition as they won the McCausland Cup in Philadelphia, PA and will hold onto the trophy for another year. The trophy goes to the winner of the Varsity Eight race, which the Colonials won by over two seconds.
The Colonials finished with a time of 5:39.1, while Penn finished with a time of 5:41.5. George Washington also competed in the junior varsity race and finished second in the race. The final times were Penn finishing with a 5:44.2 pace and George Washington finishing with a time of 5:47.5
The final two races on the day were the freshman eight race, which Penn won and the freshman four race, which the Colonials placed first and second in with times of 6:43.8 and 6:45.5.
The Colonials will return to action on Friday, April 9th when they host the 23rd annual George Washington Invitational on the Potomac River. First race is scheduled for 8:00 a.m.
