Myers Earns Back-to-Back A-10 Weekly Honors

WASHINGTON, DC- GW women's swimmer Caroline Myers was named Atlantic 10 Women's Rookie Swimmer of the Week for the second week in a row, the Conference announced Monday.
The Oldsmar, FL, native won four events for the Colonials against Bucknell at Charles E. Smith Center on Sunday afternoon. Myers won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.34, as well as posting a sub-five minute time in the 500-yard freestyle (4:59.80).
She also won the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.67) and was the anchor leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay (53.29 split). Her relay team (3:33.43) was two seconds shy of the 2009 GW program record of 3:31.17.
Myers is the first GW women's swimmer to earn consecutive A-10 Rookie of the Week honors since Kristen Fagley in the 2000-2001 season.
The Colonials will next be in the pool at the Smith Center, Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. to take on Drexel.
