Post-Game Quotes
GW Coach Mike Bozeman
Talk about your defensive strategy for the game.
"We have been trying to stick with our match-up zone defense so much, and the girls wanted to accept the challenge of playing man-to-man. That's part of the growth we need, to accept some accountability. It's not going to be a scheme thing all the time. Sometimes, it's going to take some grit, some heart, and I think we're getting there."
What do you take from this game as you go on the road against Massachusetts and Saint Joseph's?
"They're both going to offer something different. Playing at UMass is not an easy task. I don't think anybody can throw anything at us that we haven't seen. I don't think we're going to be intimidated because we have only 7 healthy bodies right now. We can take confidence if nothing else. Confidence is a big deal, and I'll take that going into UMass."
How does it feel to finally get a win in conference play?
"It's not in the forefront of my mind. I'm trying to get my team to play the way we need to play to be successful. Us beating La Salle is not going to catapult us to the front of the conference. It gets us out of the basement, but we want to use what we did today to play so that we can play better [in the next game]."
Sophomore center Sara Mostafa
Was there a point in the game where you felt in control of the post play?
"It was pretty much from the beginning of the game. My coaches told me I'd be able to get the ball inside. I believed them, and I believed in myself, just doing the best I could."
Sophomore guard Kay-Kay Allums
How big was that late second half 3-pointer today?
"It felt good. I was sitting down because I had four fouls, and I wanted to get back in and help my team. I was able to come in and knock it down."
