WASHINGTON, DC-- The George Washington University women's swimming head coach Dan Rhinehart is pleased to announce the addition of four newcomers to the women's program for the 2009-10 season. This incoming class boasts an NCSA Junior National qualifier, two State Finalists and an Olympian from Bahrain.
In addition to increasing depth to the freestyle and butterfly events, all four women bring terrific attitudes and work ethic.
"The class has a lot of raw talent and we look forward to seeing what these women are capable of once they are incorporated into our system," said Rhinehart. "The best part about all four is that their best swimming is ahead of them."
Paige Dingess (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) Coach Rhinehart on Dingess: "Paige will help us out in the butterfly and distance events. She is very raw talent and I look forward to seeing what she can do after a year of training with GW. She has an extremely positive outlook and attitude and will be a valuable contribution to our team."
Jordan Liedholm (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) Coach Rhinehart on Liedholm: "We are very excited to have Jordan join us in the fall. Being so versatile, she is sort of like our `artillery firepower' and will be a tremendous help at dual meets. Not only will she be a contribution with her individual events, she has proven herself to be a big-time relay swimmer, posting some impressive splits over the last few years."
Christina O'Connell (Kildeer, Ill./Adali E. Stevenson High) Coach Rhinehart on O'Connell: "Christina signed with us during the first signing period and we were so thrilled to sign a swimmer with as much promise and talent as she has. She showed some great improvement this year and I know that she will continue to shave even more time and make a name for herself in the Atlantic 10."
