Women's Swimming Gets High Finishes Against George Mason

WASHINGTON, DC - The GW women's swim team performed well against George Mason on Senior Day, with senior Lauren Fuchs winning the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.60) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:29.35). Both teams fell to the Patriots.
In three different events the Colonials went 1-2 or 1-2-3 in finish. In the 100-yard breaststroke Fuchs took first while fellow senior Ariana Berdini finished second (1:10.11).
Sophomore Sarah Beggs took first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.25) while senior Jessica Miga took second at 1:00.76 and sophomore Noelle Miesfeld third at 1:02.18.
Miesfeld also won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.79.
In the 50-yard freestyle event, sophomore Paola Leor (24.51), senior Laura Myers (25.55), and Miga (25.60) finished right after each other.
Freshman Isabel Tawney was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.18).
Senior David Zenk and freshman Davin Harding each won three events for the Colonials Sunday at Senior Day against George Mason.
Zenk tallied victories in the 100-yard backstroke (52.19), 200-yard backstroke (1:54.62), and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:11.46).
Harding was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team. He had victories in the 200-yard butterfly (1:57.48) and the 100-yard butterfly, where he tied with senior Tom Pullen (53.01).
Freshman Marshall Seedorff won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.83, while sophomore Konrad Kopczynski came in first in the 200-yard IM 2:00.00.
Sophomore Andrew Maguire won the 200-yard breaststroke 2:13.87, while freshman Dan Krizan came in second at 2:17.73. Junior Cascade Tuholske took second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.62)
The Colonials next compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships, Feb. 18-21, in Buffalo, NY.
