PRINCETON, NJ - The George Washington Men's Rowing team had a strong showing at the Princeton Chase on Sunday, finishing 7th out of 43 total boats in the Varsity Eight race. After racing in horrendous conditions in Boston, the conditions were a little more forgiving this time and the team took advantage with a finishing time of 13:31. Princeton won the race with a time of 13:18, just 13 seconds ahead of George Washington.
The JV boat also raced in the Varsity Eight race and finished 34th overall with a time of 14:38. In the freshman event, George Washington raced two even freshman eight boats and finished 12th and 15th overall out of 19 crews. Princeton also finished first in that event as well.
"It was a pretty strong day for us," said Head Coach Mark Davis. "The team is excited with their performance, and the Varsity can now get ready for Winter training. We are very happy with the showing today."
The Varsity now is off until the spring when they head to the McCausland Cup on Saturday, March 27th. The Novice team will race on Saturday, November 7th at a site that has yet to be determined.
