Tawney Gets Win, but Colonials Fall at Rhode Island Invite

KINGSTON, RI--Senior swimmer David Zenk led the Colonials with three wins, but it was not enough as the men's team finished third and the women's team finished fourth at the Rhode Island Invitational.
Zenk won the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.51, four seconds over second place UMass' Max Butler. He also defeated Butler by a four second margin in the 200 Backstroke, posting a 1:51.55 time. Zenk went on to finish a full ten seconds over teammate, Cascade Tuholske in the 400 IM.
Freshman Davin Harding also posted a win in the 200 Fly, only four-one-hundredths-of-a-second over second place Mike Berthaume of UMass, at 1:58.85.
For the women's team, freshman Isabel Tawney came away from the Invite with the only win in the 200-yard backstroke.
The Colonials swim next against Connecticut at the Smith Center on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m.
