Four Women's Swimmers Win at AU, CU, GW Meet

WASHINGTON, DC -- The GW men's and women's swim teams combined to win 13 individual events in a three-way meet with American and Catholic Universities Friday and Saturday. Friday's races were held at Catholic's DuFour Center pool while Saturday's races took place at American's Reeves Aquatic Center. The results were not scored to produce team total points but GW and American swimmers each won 13 races while no swimmers from Catholic won an event.
The GW men combined to win nine events including two each by freshman Davin Harding and junior Stephen Cosme. Harding won the 500-yd freestyle and 200 butterfly while Cosme captured the 100- and 200-yd freestyle events. Other victorious Colonials were junior Cascade Tuholske in the 200 IM, freshman Marshall Seedorff in the 50 freestyle, senior Tom Pullen in the 100 breaststroke, sophomore Andrew Maguire in the 200 breaststroke and sophomore Fred Schneider in the grueling 1,650-yd freestyle.
On the women's side, four Colonials won races over the weekend. Junior Emily Leik won the 400 IM, freshman Isabel Tawney won the 100 backstroke, senior Lauren Fuchs won the 200 breaststroke and sophomore Noelle Miesfeld won the 200 butterfly.
GW next swims Saturday, Oct. 25, at Georgetown in a three-way meet with Providence beginning at 1:00 p.m. The meet will take place at Georgetown University's Yates Field House.
