WASHINGTON, DC (AP) - Jessica Adair scored 14 points, Antelia Parrish added 13 and No. 20/17 George Washington beat La Salle 50-32 on Wednesday night.
It was the fewest points allowed by George Washington (15-4, 3-1 Atlantic 10 Conference) against a conference opponent since beating St. Bonaventure 81-32 at home on Feb. 1, 1992. The Colonials improved to 13-0 against La Salle in Washington.
Carlene Hightower scored 11 points for La Salle (9-10, 1-3).
La Salle's 32 points and 27.9 percent shooting were both season lows for the Explorers. Both numbers were also the second-best of the season for George Washington's defense. The Colonials beat Brown 98-22 on Jan. 6.
George Washington went on a 10-0 run, including eight straight points from Parrish, to take a 48-28 lead with 6 minutes left.
The game was close until halftime. La Salle led as late as the final minute of the first half, but George Washington pulled ahead for a 22-20 halftime lead.
The Colonials scored the first 12 points of the second half, holding La Salle scoreless for the first 6 1/2 minutes after halftime. Starting in the first half, George Washington had a 16-0 run while holding La Salle scoreless for eight minutes.
