Women's Swimming Takes Fourth at Rhode Island Invitational

KINGSTON, RI - The George Washington University women's swimming & diving team finished fourth at this weekends Rhode Island Invitational. The Colonials were highlighted by 10 top five finishes at the two-day Invite, with junior Ariana Berdini picking up the only win.
Berdini won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:09.98. Finishing just behind her in fourth place was sophomore Katrina Timlin in fourth place, clocking in 1:10.60. Berdini also added a fourth place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:31.52, just behind fellow junior Lauren Fuchs, who finished third in 2:30.11. Timlin finished sixth in the 200-yard distance in 2:32.65.
Freshman Noelle Miesfeld performed well in the butterfly, earning a third place finish in the 100-yard in 2:14.81. Senior Molly Moss took sixth in the event, touching the wall in 2:20.66.
Sophomores Cissey Ye and Emily Leik also earned top five finishes, with Ye taking fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:02.37, while Leik placed fifth in the 200-yard IM (2:16.12).
Freshman diver Sarah Landry took fifth place in both the one and three-meter dives with 192.15 and 189.10 points, respectively.
Next up for the Colonials is their foe from the Hilltop, Georgetown, Sunday, Jan. 20 at Charles E. Smith Athletic Center. The diving portion of the meet will begin at 11:00 am, while the swimming portion will commence at 1:00 pm.
