PRINCETON, NJ - George Washington women's water polo seniors Morgan Hooker and Jenna Burnett were named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) All-South Second Team, the league announced prior to this past weekend's Eastern Championships in Princeton, NJ.
Hooker and Burnett, GW's 2007 team captains, each scored 44 points this season to lead the team.
Hooker was chosen an all-conference performer for the third straight season after earning first-team accolades in 2006 and second-team honors in 2005. Hooker led GW with 42 goals this year and finished her career as the program's all-time leading goal scorer with 170. She also ranks fourth all-time with 192 career points.
Burnett, a second-team CWPA All-South selection last season, posted 33 assists for the Colonials in 2007, one shy of the single-season program record of 34 set by Heather Walenga in 2001. Burnett rounded out her four-year career with a program-best 99 assists and ranks fifth all-time with 186 career points.
GW finished the 2007 season with a 6-21 overall mark, with victories against Iona, Queens (NY), Siena, Villanova, Macalester and Whittier.
