HAVERFORD, PA - George Washington women's squash upset No. 20 Franklin & Marshall on November 17, with a dominating 9-0 over the Diplomats win in Haverford, PA. The victory marked the first ever win for GW over F&M.
The Colonials are now 2-1 on the season, after falling at No. 21 Virginia, 6-3, and defeating Haverford by the same score, earlier in the month.
In the defeat of F&M, GW did not lose a game, and senior Alexa Miller (Haverford, PA/Episcopal Academy) did not relinquish a single point.
This weekend, GW will continue its fall schedule, when they travel to Middletown, CT, to compete in the Wesleyan Round Robin Tournament. On Friday, Nov. 30, the Colonials (No. 27 in 2006-07 final rankings) will face host-school Wesleyan (No. 26) at 6:00 p.m. and Bates College (No. 10) at 7 p.m. Then, on Sunday, GW will play three matches squaring off against William Smith (No. 17) at 9:00 a.m., Smith (No. 28) at 11:00 a.m. and then Wellesley (No. 24) at 3:00 p.m.
