Women's Water Polo Sweeps Two Matches At Coyote Classic

SAN BERNARDINO, CA - George Washington won their third-straight match, topping Cal State Bernardino and Cal Tech at the CSUSB Coyote Classic.
The Colonials (7-7) won a double-overtime match over host CSUSB, 10-9. GW was led by Elisabeth Schweitzer, who scored four goals in the marathon match. Schweitzer scored the go-ahead goal in the first overtime to give GW the 9-8 lead. The Coyotes would knot the match 9-9 in the next period, but Vanessa Fravel would put the match away with a game-winning score with 49 seconds left in the second overtime.
In their second match of the day the Colonials raced out to a 6-1 lead over Cal Tech after the first period as Fravel continued her torrid play, scoring three goals in the quarter. GW staked a 10-3 lead by the half, and the two squads would only score one more goal for the final decision, 11-4. Fravel led the team with three scores, and Ashley Pyka and Kendra Shanley added two scores apiece.
