PITTSBURGH, PA (April 21, 2002) - The Colonials fell behind 12-0, on their way to a 16-3 conference loss versus the Duquesne Dukes in their second game in as many days.
George Washington (4-10, 0-6) remained winless in Atlantic 10 competition, as they would never get in sync on offense. The Dukes sprinted out to a 12-0 first half lead before freshman Jamie Lee (Berkeley, CA/Berkeley) scored her first of two goals on the day in the 23rd minute of the game.
The Colonials, competing in their first season as a varsity sport, were able to adjust in the second half, and only allowed three more scores by Duquesne, and responded with two goals of their own. Lee got GW on the board first in the second half with an unassisted score in the 33rd minute of the game. Freshman Jenny Heisler (Shaker Heights, OH, Shaker Heights) would add another score just a minute and a half later.
The Colonials return home to face La Salle on Friday, April 26, in a 3:30 p.m. game at the Mt. Vernon Athletic Complex.
