SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Lindsay Davidson's 3-pointer in the final minute gave 24th-ranked George Washington a 67-66 victory over Syracuse on Saturday.
George Washington trailed 66-64, when Davidson scored the game's last points on her long shot with 52 seconds left. She finished with 20 points, including six 3-pointers.
Each team failed to score on its next possession, but George Washington (3-1) was able to run down the clock, leaving Syracuse (2-5) with six seconds left to try to win.
But the hosts thought their coach called timeout. The clock wasn't stopped, though, and Syracuse's Julie McBride was left to take a desperation shot from 40 feet away.
Cathy Joens scored 18 for GW, while Ugo Oha added 13.
McBride produced a game-high 23 points for Syracuse, while Shannon Perry had 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Rochelle Coleman scored 11.
