Women's Water Polo Ranked Eighth In CWPA Preseason Poll

WASHINGTON, DC (Jan. 28) - The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) released its Preseason Top 10 Poll which placed the George Washington University women's water polo team eighth in the conference heading into the 2002 season.
The Colonials enter their third season as a varsity sport at GW after finishing 14-13 overall in 2001, and posting an impressive 6-2 record in the CWPA. GW was received 66 votes overall, second only to Princeton University in the Southern Division's Mid-Atlantic Region, and fourth overall in the entire Southern Division.
The CWPA expands to 25 teams this season, adding five new members. The schools are separated into the Southern and Northern Divisions which are each divided into two regions that are determined by geographical locale.
GW opens its season at the Princeton Invitational on February 16, when they face Massachusetts in a 1:00 p.m. match and Brown at 6:30 p.m.
