Danny Rivas is in his first year at GW as an assistant athletic trainer for the men’s soccer program.
Prior to arriving at GW, Rivas served as an athletic trainer for Radford University’s men’s soccer program from 2019-2021. While at Radford, Rivas also served on the Virginia Athletic Trainers Association Young Professional Committee (VATAYPC). Rivas also served as a preceptor for athletic training students at RU and was a supervisor to two intern athletic trainers.
Rivas served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at The University of West Alabama from 2017-2019 and received his Master of Science in Exercise Science. While at UWA, he served as an athletic trainer for the men’s soccer and women’s basketball programs.
Rivas, a native of Queens, New York, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University in 2017. While at WCU, Rivas had the opportunity to have full clinical immersion experiences working with football at Davidson College and the University of Virginia.
Rivas has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) since 2014, and currently holds CPR/AED and Mental Health First Aid certifications. Professional interests include mental health, manual therapy and evaluation and rehab for injuries related to the spine and low back.
