GW men's soccer alum (1991-95) Stefan Triandafilou reunited the program part-way through the 2024 season, joining the staff as an assistant coach.
Triandafilou has experience at all levels of soccer, including a robust playing career which included over 10 years with the Bethesda Soccer Club, along with experience with Maryland ODP, Region One, GW men’s soccer and various U.S. National Team levels. As a student-athlete at GW, Triandafilou served as team captain, leading his team on and off the field. He also contributed to GW Athletics as a member of the National Advisory Council.
Triandafilou currently holds a U.S. Soccer “D” Coaching License and plans to pursue a “C” License. He also currently serves as a shareholder and sits on the board of Hapoel Tel Aviv and Plymouth Argyle, contributing to strategic decisions in professional soccer management.
Triandafilou, a father of four, met his wife of over 25 years outside of the GW Deli and has spent over 50 years living in Montgomery County, Md.
