(RV) GW water polo is ready for its final non-conference tournament of the season at the Salem Invitational. The Revolutionaries will play four matches in Bridgeport, W.Va., against Fresno Pacific (12:50 p.m.) and (RV) Gannon (7:30 p.m.) on Saturday, and vs. No. 4 (D-III) Johns Hopkins (9 a.m.) and Salem (1 p.m.) on Sunday.

The Revolutionaries picked up one vote in the CWPA's week 2 poll and are currently the third-ranked team in the MAWPC behind Fordham and Navy. Konstantinos Kapragkos had another standout weekend, leading GW to a 3-2 record at the Navy Open. His 20-goal weekend earned him GW's Student-Athlete of the Week award, which was his second weekly award of the year after earning the title of MAWPC Player of the Week following opening weekend.

Fresno Pacific enters the weekend at 0-5, being outscored by its opponents, 83-35. Fresno Pacific was 5-20 last season which included a fourth-place finish at the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Championship. GW is 6-0 all-time vs. the Sunbirds, including a 19-13 win in their last meeting in 2024.

Gannon started the season at 3-3, with wins over Iona, Wheaton College and Connecticut College. The Golden Knights took third place at last year's WWPA Championship, finishing the season at 14-10. GW will look to improve on its 17-1 all-time record vs. Gannon as the teams meet for the first time since 2022.

Johns Hopkins comes into the weekend riding a three-game win streak and at 3-2 overall after opening their campaign last weekend at the Navy Open. This will be the first of two meetings between GW and Johns Hopkins this season, and is the 100th all-time meeting between the teams. GW has dominated the series of late, having won 22 consecutive matches vs. Johns Hopkins, while holding a narrow 53-46 edge in the all-time series.

Salem enters the weekend at 0-4 after dropping all four games last weekend at the Navy Open. The Tigers closed last season at 16-16 and finished in fifth place at the WWPA Championship. GW is 12-0 against Salem dating back to 2014.
