Men’s Soccer Adds Miguel Sosa for 2026

GW men's soccer announced the addition of Miguel Sosa to the roster ahead of the 2026 season. Sosa, a midfielder, comes to GW as a junior after spending two seasons in the Southern Conference at Furman, playing for a side which reached the NCAA Championship Semifinals a season ago.
"We're delighted to welcome Miguel to GW," said GW Men's Soccer Head Coach Matt Watts. "To add a player with his experience after reaching the Final Four with Furman is a real boost for our program. He's a creative, hardworking midfielder who understands what it takes to compete at the highest level, and we're excited to see the impact he'll make on and off the field this season."
Sosa appeared in 10 matches a season ago at Furman, logging 203 minutes for the Paladins. He made his season debut in Furman's 3-0 season-opening victory over UC San Diego, playing 33 minutes off the bench. Sosa's season-high in minutes came vs. North Greenville in a 41-minute effort, also off the bench.
In 2024, Sosa was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll after his freshman season.
Before Furman, Sosa was rated as a three-star prospect by Top Drawer Soccer. He earned Miami Herald All-Dade County First Team honors as a senior in high school. Sosa played his club soccer for Supreme FC and earned ECNL Florida Second Team accolades in back-to-back years.
Sosa is from Miami, Fla., and is a graduate of Immaculata-La Salle High School. He becomes the 13th newcomer to the Revolutionaries for the upcoming season.
