Of all of the traditions at the George Washington University, perhaps the truest Only At GW moment comes around each May when Commencement is held on the National Mall. On Sunday, for the Class of 2026, the occasion was made more memorable by America 250 celebrations being held alongside. Capping a week that saw an early Commencement exercise for those that would be competing during the week, and a Friday toast that honored GW Athletics' grads, Sunday was the topper on the mall.
While once a Revolutionary, always a Revolutionary, as it was made clear to all grads that they'll always have a home at GW, student-athletes celebrated with their classmates as the university bade farewell. In Friday's Senior Honors Toast, five graduates were awarded with top senior superlatives.
Lacrosse's Parker Cranz was named the top female scholar.
Holden Wheeler of men's swimming & diving was the top male scholar.
Softball's Ashley Corpuz was crowned Most Outstanding Senior Female Student-Athlete.
Men's diver Michael Wood earned Most Outstanding Senior Male Student-Athlete.
Amina Robinson of volleyball took home the Student-Athlete Leadership Award.
