WASHINGTON – With one week left in the regular season, the George Washington women's basketball team returns to the Smith Center for the final time on Wednesday, hosting St. Bonaventure for Senior Night. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m., with live coverage available on ESPN+.
CELEBRATING THE SENIORS
Prior to Wednesday's game, GW will honor four members of its senior class, along with one graduate manager. Filipa Calisto, Emma Theodorsson, Caia Loving and Natalia Sierra-Vergas will all be celebrated for their accomplishments with the Buff & Blue as they play their final home game in Foggy Bottom. Graduate manager Sydney Avoletta will also be honored as she completes her graduate program this year as well.
Wednesday's senior festivities are slated to begin at 5:40 at center court, with each senior escorted by family and friends from the northwest corner of the arena. Following the eight-minute presentation, the teams will return to the court for final warmups before transitioning into a typical pregame countdown.
A-10 STANDINGS UPDATE
With two games apiece left on the conference calendar, GW currently sits in a tie for ninth with St. Bonaventure at 6-10 in A-10 action. The Bonnies currently hold the tiebreaker over GW due to their head-to-head victory on Dec. 31 in Olean, NY, but a win on Wednesday night pulls GW a game ahead with one weekend to go.
Saint Louis is currently 11th in the conference standings, one game behind GW and St. Bonaventure at 5-11. GW previously beat SLU on Jan. 28 this year, giving the Revolutionaries the upper hand in a tiebreaker scenario. Seeds 11-14 will play on day one of the A-10 Women's Basketball Championship on March 4, while seeds 5-10 will receive a first-round bye and begin play in the second round on March 5. The top four seeds will receive a double bye, advancing straight to the quarterfinal round on March 6.
GW's current position would grant it a first-round bye, landing the team in the 7-seed vs. 10-seed game at 5:00 p.m. on March 5. The 7-seed is currently occupied by La Salle, which swept the season series in two games against the Revolutionaries this season. The complete A-10 women's basketball standings can be found here.
SCOUTING THE BONNIES
St. Bonaventure travels to the DMV with a 15-13 overall record, most recently falling to Loyola Chicago, 58-55, on Saturday. The Bonnies snuck out of the Reilly Center with a narrow one-point victory over GW on New Year's Eve, using a last-second shot from Mackenzie Pettinelli to prevail in the fourth quarter. Jim Crowley is in his 19th season with the program and third since rejoining the group after seven years as the head coach at Providence. Crowley previously spent 16 seasons as the bench boss for the Bonnies from 2000-16, leading the program to a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2012.
The Bonnies' offense is led by do-it-all guard Laycee Drake, who's averaging 15.3 ppg on 44.2% shooting from the floor. Drake also leads the program in assists per game at 2.5 and grabs a team-high 6.1 rebounds. Aaliyah Parker is the only other Bonnie who averages double figures this season, putting in 12.2 ppg and grabbing 5.7 rebounds a night. St. Bonaventure's full 2025-26 season stats can be found here.
