FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Washington women's basketball team fell in a road contest to local rival George Mason on Saturday afternoon, 67-52, in the team's penultimate road game of the regular season. GW moves to 14-15 on the season, with a 6-10 mark in Atlantic 10 action.
The first half was highly contested, with both teams trading buckets across the first 15 minutes. GW claimed a 22-21 lead on a three-pointer from Jaeda Wilson midway through the court, but unbeknownst to the visiting Revolutionaries, it would be the last lead the team would hold the rest of the way. The Patriots closed the quarter on a 16-4 run, taking an 11-point lead into the halftime break.
GW held pace with the host Patriots in the second half but couldn't make up much ground as George Mason maintained at least a seven-point advantage the rest of the way. Prior to tip-off, George Mason honored its 2026 seniors, one of whom was Zahirah Walton, who paced all scorers with 22 points.
Gabby Reynolds led GW's offense with 11 points, while Kamari Sims added seven. Sara Lewis chipped in five, to go along with a team-best seven rebounds.
GW concludes its 2025-26 home schedule on Wednesday, hosting St. Bonaventure at 6:00 p.m. Prior to tip-off, GW will honor its four senior members with a special pregame ceremony. Live coverage of the matchup will be available on ESPN+.
