GW men's water polo returns to play this weekend with three games in Pennsylvania. First, the Revolutionaries visit Lewisburg, PA., for a matchup against Bucknell on Saturday at 3 p.m. On Sunday, GW travels to Erie Pa. to face Mercyhurst at 10 a.m. and Gannon at 2 p.m. for the final non-conference matchup of the year. Saturday's contest will be streamed on YouTube, while game one Sunday vs. Mercyhurst will air on NEC Front Row and game two will be streamed on PSAC Sports Digital Network. Â
GW enters the conference portion of its schedule looking to build on its 9-5 record in the first month of the season. Last year, the Revolutionaries finished with a 7-5 mark in MAWPC play and earned the three seed in the conference tournament, where they took down No. 6 Mount St. Mary's and No. 2 Navy on their way to the championship game vs. No. 1 Fordham. GW gave the then-No. 5 ranked Rams a run for their money in Fordham's home pool but ultimately fell 16-9.
Bucknell has opened 2026 at 8-6 which includes a 3-1 record in conference, which includes wins over Wagner, Mercyhurst and Mount St. Mary's, and a loss to No. 5 Fordham. Bucknell holds the edge in the all-time series over GW, 59-22, however GW has won each of the last four meetings against the Bison.
Mercyhurst has struggled to open their season at 2-13 with an 0-5 vs. MAWPC opposition. GW is an undefeated 4-0 against the Lakers since they joined the MAWPC in 2024. GW has won nine consecutive games vs. Mercyhurst dating back to 2014.
GW and Gannon meet for the second time this year on Sunday following GW's 15-8 win over the Lancers on Sept. 12. Gannon enters Sunday's matchup at 6-7. GW is 18-1 all-time vs. Gannon.
