WASHINGTON – Following a narrow 54-53 loss on Wednesday at St. Bonaventure, the George Washington women's basketball team looks to start a new winning streak on Saturday at La Salle. Tip-off in Philly is slated for 1:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
THEODORSSON HITS 1K
With her sixth point on Wednesday at St. Bonaventure, Emma Theodorsson officially hit the 1,000 career point milestone. She becomes the first member of the Buff & Blue to do so since Nya Lok in 2023.
Theodorsson began her career at Bucknell, playing two seasons with the Bison from 2022-24. She's been a welcome addition to GW's offense, averaging 9.2 ppg, third-best on the team. After a slow start to the season, she's come alive as of late, posting double-digit performances in six of her last nine games, including three straight. She'll look to continue giving GW a spark off the bench as the Revolutionaries enter the heart of conference play.
START A NEW STREAK
Wednesday's loss ended GW's seven-game winning streak, the longest the program had enjoyed since the 2016-17 season. Standout sophomore Gabby Reynolds was exceptional during GW's run, leading the team in scoring in five out of seven contests. Reynolds has lived up to her Preseason All-Conference billing, averaging 14.9 points a game, good enough for 10th in the Atlantic 10. Over the winning streak, Reynolds averaged 15.0 ppg, while junior Sara Lewis was second on the squad at 11.9 ppg. Both players will look to continue their standout play as GW looks to start a new streak on Saturday at La Salle.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
La Salle enters the matchup 9-4 overall and 2-0 in the Atlantic 10 after defeating Fordham, 72-69, in the Bronx on Wednesday. Saturday's matchup will mark the 50th meeting all-time between the two programs, with GW holding a commanding 40-9 lead in the all-time series. Included in that run were 24-consecutive wins for GW from 1985-2004, the second-longest winning streak against a single opponent in program history. GW's stretch of 26 straight over St. Bonaventure from 1990-2007 is the only streak longer.
Led by eighth-year Head Coach Mountain MacGillivray, La Salle's offense is paced by Ashleigh Connor, who averages 15.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Aryss Macktoon puts in 14.8 points and a team-best 6.9 boards a night. The pair account for nearly 46% of La Salle's points scored this season. The Explorers' full 2025-26 stats can be found here.
