Women’s Soccer Dropped at NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The George Washington women's soccer team concluded non-conference play on Sunday afternoon, dropping a road bout with NC State, 4-0. The Revolutionaries fall to 2-4-2 entering Atlantic 10 action on Thursday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 39th Minute: NC State's Jade Bordeleau tallied the match's first goal, doing so late in the first half to put the Wolfpack ahead. The goal was unassisted and her first of the season.
- 46th Minute: Just 48 seconds out of the halftime break, Bordeleau recorded her second goal of the day off an assist from Olivia Pratapas.
- 48th Minute: Less than two minutes later, Bordeleau registered the hat trick with her third goal of the match. The score was unassisted.
- 60th Minute: Aoki Yuna tallied the final goal of the day, doing so off assists from Paige Tolentino and Rosalie Olou. The goal is Yuna's first of 2024.
NOTEWORTHY
- GW held NC State to just five total shots in the first half, but the Wolfpack erupted for 16 after the break. NC State finished the match with 21 total shots compared to five for the Buff & Blue. The Wolfpack also tallied a 9-1 lead in shots on goal.
- GW's lone shot on goal came from grad student Lauren Prentice. Prentice was also the only Revolutionary to finish with more than one shot, notching two in the match.
- Keeper Ainsley Lumpe tallied five saves for GW during her 90 minutes in net, while NC State's Olivia Pratapas finished with one save.
- GDUB notched a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks, while NC State led 7-4 in fouls. Neither team received a card in the match.
