WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball Head Coach Chris Caputo has announced the signing of two incoming first-years for the 2025-26 season with the additions of Vinny Chaudhri and Jalen Rougier-Roane on Thursday.
Vinny Chaudhri
6'7" // 190 // Wallkill, NY // Northfield Mount Hermon (MA)
Recruit Rankings: Consensus 3-star, #247 Nationally, #49 Small Forward, #7 in New York
Chaudhri is expected to fill a versatile role for George Washington with keen positional size and flexibility on the wing. He began his high school career at Trinity Pawling where he made himself known as a strong defender before transferring to Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts prior to last season. Chaudri has twice been named NEPSAC honorable mention during his career and has played AAU for Riverside Hawks in NYC, most recently putting up 14.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 1.0 bpg during the spring season.
Chaudhri chose GW over offers from Loyola Chicago, SMU, Saint Louis, George Mason and Richmond, among others.
Jalen Rougier-Roane
6'5" // 205 // Bowie, MD // Sidwell Friends (DC)
Recruit Rankings: Consensus 3-star, #272 Nationally, #48 Shooting Guard, #7 in Washington, DC
Rougier-Roane will be another big guard coming into the fold for Coach Caputo who hails from the DMV, growing up in Bowie and attending Sidwell Friends in the District. He has helped guide Sidwell to three-straight DCSAA State Championships, including being named the MVP of the championship this past March at the Smith Center. Additionally, he has been named All-League three times in three years and was a third team Washington Post All-Met selection.
Rougier-Roane plays in the AAU circuit with Team Takeover and has also played for the Canadian national team, participating in the U18 AmeriCup for the country this summer and earning a runner-up finish while averaging 8.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.3 apg. He chose GW over offers from George Mason, Seton Hall and DePaul among others.
