WASHINGTON-Â The GW Volleyball team will close out its 2024 regular season at home this Friday and Saturday as it takes on Loyola Chicago in the Smith Center. The series is set to begin Friday at 6 p.m. and will conclude Saturday at 1 p.m. with a Senior Day celebration. Both matches will also air live on ESPN+.Â
Â
WEEK REWINDÂ
In the penultimate week of A-10 action, the Buff & Blue split its road series with Rhode Island, falling 3-1 on Friday afternoon before bouncing back to sweep Rhody on Saturday afternoon. With the split, the GW Revs clinched a spot in the six-team conference tournament to be held in Dayton, Ohio on November 22-24. Following this weekend's results, tournament seeds and opponents will be announced by the A-10 office. The current A-10 volleyball standings can be found here.Â
Â
ON THE RAMBLERS
Loyola Chicago heads to the District ranked third in the league, sitting directly ahead of GW in the conference standings and behind Dayton and VCU. As previously mentioned, the weekend series will determine the final regular season rankings for the two tournament-bound squads. The Ramblers will arrive in the Smith Center following a weekend sweep of Fordham and sit 11-5 in A-10 action this year. To view the Ramblers' performance by the numbers, click here.Â

CELEBRATING THE SENIORS
Saturday's matchup will also serve as GW's senior day. This year, the GW Volleyball team will honor six seniors and remember the academic and athletic contributions Grace Allread, MC Daubendiek, Reilly Heinrich, Brittany Myers, Kelsey Watkins and Salem Yohannes have made to GW and to the volleyball program. The festivities will begin roughly 10 minutes before the start of the 1 p.m. match.
