WASHINGTON- In a swift three sets, the GW Volleyball team defeated the George Mason Patriots on Wednesday evening. With the second sweep over George Mason this season, the Revolutionaries claimed the second matchup of the Revolutionary Rivalry and the A-10 series victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening frame, several points were exchanged between the two teams to open the set, with each team trailing the other by less than five throughout the entire stanza. Back-to-back service aces from Treahy in the final moments of action propelled GW over GMU to claim the first, 25-23.
In the second, GW got ahead early, but the Green & Gold would respond to bring the set to 6-5. The score would tie three times, but the GW Revs would not relinquish the lead to claim victory 25-19.
Playing to the third and final set, the Revolutionaries once again pulled ahead early, but the Patriots battled back from a nine-point deficit to even things out at 19 apiece. With both teams motioning to use their timeouts, GW battled through five tied scores in the final moments to seize the match, 25-23.
After completing the Revolutionary Rivalry series, GW now turns its attention to a weekend series playing host to the Saint Louis Billikens. The series will open at the Smith Center on Friday evening at 6 p.m. airing live on ESPN+.
